Helping a 26 year old mum of 3 through a life threatening brain injury.
Nelson / Tasman
On February the 6th 2021 Lizzy a mother of 3 boys aged 6, 3 and 6 months old had an accident while getting off the back of a ute causing a life threatening traumatic brain bleed which resulted in her being placed into an induced coma for 2 weeks in Wellington hospital with a less than 50% chance of survival. Lizzy managed to fight to survive and is now undergoing brain rehabilitation which can take up to 10 years to get better however Lizzy has struggled with multiple infections such as pneumonia but is still fighting everyday to try and beat the odds placed against her recovery.
She has spent the last 2 months away from home and her little boys while she rehabilitates which is extremely hard for her. Wellington hospital said to family that if she can survive the brain injury she will only have a recovery rate of 70% however she is aiming for a 90% recovery rate so she can go back to being the amazing mother she was before the accident.
Lizzys current partner and youngest sons dad.
To help ease the financial burden of being stuck in a different city while she rehabilitates from the brain injury. Also to help with food and bills and to help get me up there to so I can sit there and support my partner.
