New Plymouth Riding for the Disabled 3 Hour Relay

  • Thanks a million everyone

      5 December 2024

On behalf of our entire team, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for everyone's incredible support and dedication during our 3-Hour Relay on Saturday. Everyone's enthusiasm and generosity, hard work have made an impact on our cause, and we are truly thankful for each and every one of you.

Together we have raised $8500 and an increased awareness in our community.

We want to recognise and appreciate the efforts of each participant, donor and volunteer who contributed their time resources, and energy to make this event a success. Your kindness and compassion have touched the hearts of many and will create an impact.

Jake is one of our riders in our 3-Hour relay on the 30th of November. Jake has been riding for 18 years, he started at 4 years of age and is now a fine young man at 22 years, is an integral part of our RDA team and rides like a pro!

This is what Jake had to say when asked what RDA has meant to him: “Wednesday is my favourite day of the week because it is RDA day. When I’m riding Peggy, I don’t have a disability. I feel free, I am strong, and I am in control of both Peggy and my body.

I’m so proud how far I have come. When I first started at I couldn’t even sit on a horse without support. Now I ride by myself. Riding has given me the confidence I can achieve anything I want to.

I cannot thank all the volunteers enough who have supported me through my RDA journey and still do. Giving their time so for 30 minutes once a week I feel like a superhero”
