I’m taking on the Spirit of Belron Challenge by climbing Mount Maunganui 38 times — the same elevation as Mt Everest
Bay of Plenty
Hi friends, family, strangers, and people who clicked this by accident,
This winter, I’m doing something slightly ridiculous for a very good cause: I’m climbing Mount Maunganui 38 times – that’s the equivalent of summiting Mount Everest (but with better coffee and less frostbite).
Why, you ask? Because I was honored to be selected by Belron to represent New Zealand at the Spirit of Belron Challenge, raising funds for an amazing charity called Afrika Tikkun, which supports children and young people in South African communities from “cradle to career.” They help provide access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and job readiness – basically, they’re superheroes in real-life clothes.
Now here’s where it gets extra fun:
For every $50 we raise, I will climb The Mount one more time.
The goal: $1,900 – which means 38 climbs. I'll keep going if we get more. Hmmm...wonder if we could do it twice.
The deadline: End of August – so it’s all happening soon!
I plan to record and share some of the most painful moments and recognize my supporters so don't be shy about leaving your name on your donation. www.youtube.com/@38-times
If you want to see me, get progressively sweatier, slower, and more emotionally dependent on electrolytes, please donate! Every dollar helps, and it goes straight to helping young people build a future filled with opportunity.
Let’s do something amazing together – I’ll bring the calf cramps and creaking knees; you bring the generosity.
Donate now and make me climb!
As a team member of Belron NZ, I'm honored to be selected as a New Zealand representative at this year's event which will cumulate at the main even in England in September.
Spirit of Belron Challange is an annual international fundraising event for Afrika Tikkun who do life-changing work supporting kids & young adults in South Africa, helping them with education, healthcare, and career opportunities.
