Rowers from Saint Kentigern will be taking part in a 40 hour ergathon as part of the 40 Hour Famine for World Vision.
Auckland
Over the course of 40 hours ten rowers currently attending Saint Kentigern College will erg for forty hours, four and a half hours each. Claire Hofman, Olivia Hofer, Alesha Lamont, Grace Barry, Grace Payn, Lucy Farnsworth, Lucy Wilson, Zara Iqbal and Lauren Oliver aim to raise $3500 for Chigodi Day Secondary School in Malawi, through the 40 Hour Famine for World Vision. The 40 Hour Famine is the biggest youth movement in the world, where young people sacrifice or give up something for 40 hours in order to benefit the lives of others around the world. This $3500 will go towards the building of hygienic toilet facilities and a library full of teaching and student resources. Saint Kentigern College has a five year partnership with this community and school, throughout these five years we have been supporting several projects. These projects include the purchasing livestock, buying agricultural produce, purchasing desks and supporting feeding projects. On the 10th – 12th of June we will begin our 40 hour ergathon. We aim to improve the lives of the community members and students through the 40 Hour Famine.
Please help us change the lives of these people in Chigodi, Malwai by making a donation on this page!
