Please Help 40th Container of Donated Goods to Vanuatu,

$2,090 of $8,000 goal
Given by 13 generous donors in 9 weeks

Funding the shipping of a 40th container of donated goods to Vanuatu.

Auckland

Many of us have holidayed in Vanuatu. In fact this whole project started when a group of Kiwanis members were on holiday in Vanuatu over 30 years ago. They saw the need for education and health goods, and even paid for and returned to put a roof on a school damaged in a hurricane. Hence this project began. The 39th Container has just left NZ.

Members of NZ South Pacific District of Kiwanis International have been funding containers of donated goods to Vanuatu for 30 years. e.g. toys, school desks, sewing machines, books, clothing, spectacles, wheel chairs, walkers, garden tools, building materials, just to mention a few of the types of items we send.

We have sports equipment, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, school desks and chairs etc., enough to fill a 40th container and wish to send it in October. The Kiwanis Club of Port Vila receive, unpack and distribute the items throughout the islands of Vanuatu wherever the need is most. In fact, the Port Vila club estimates we have sent the equivalent of $7.5 million of goods.

Please, we need help from members, family, friends and the public to fund this extra, much needed container of goods before they deteriorate. Thank you.

The Kiwanis Club of Drury is using their Charitable Trust bank account on behalf of all the Kiwanis clubs in NZ South Pacific District of Kiwanis whose members have personally funded the last 39 containers.

40th Ready To Go  10 October 2022

The 40th container to Vanuatu is ready to go. On behalf of NZ South Pacific Kiwanis clubs, thank you so much everyone for your generosity with donations to this Give A Little page and to the members and clubs who have donated directly to our bank account. We have reached the target to cover the cost of this extra shipment. It contains, wheelchairs, walkers commodes, school stationery, desks, books, toys, chairs, room dividers, tools and bedding just to name a few of the variety of items. Our Kiwanis Club in Port Vila will unpack and distribute the goods wherever needed. Sometimes they even ask yachties to take a load out to the islands.

Thank you once again to the fund donors, to the Kiwanians who send the goods at their own cost(even from Christchurch) those who collect the good around the North Island of NZ at the own cost, to the Kiwanians who assist in the packing of the goods on the day, including Papatotoe High School Key Club and most of all to Ewan Beck who motivates and organises us and does most of the pick ups.

Footnote: if you ever plan a holiday to Vanuatu, think about taking anything that a child could use for school. They are so grateful.
