Virginia is walking 5km to raise money for the elephant orphans at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Kenya and also to help save rhinos.
Auckland
As a committed wildlife advocate, who spent a month on safari in Kenya in July of this year, I will be walking 5km at the Auckland Marathon in November to raise money for the care and welfare of the elephant orphans at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) Kenya and for the rhino project 'Saving The Survivors' in South Africa. Both keynote species are facing extinction because of rampant poaching throughout Africa for their tusks and horns.
This fundraising venture has been initiated by Tusk and Horn Wildlife Trust ( a non-profit organisation) which is committed to raising awareness and creating education about the African and Asian Elephant and Rhinoceros species for present and future New Zealanders.

As the founder of New Zealanders for Endangered Wildlife (NZFEW), I am supporting this worthy cause to help save and protect elephants and rhinos, as the world's natural 'taonga' (treasures) now and for the future.
