ZAC REID to the 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, Hawaii & 2016 World Surf Lifesaving Championships, Netherlands.

I am extremely proud and incredibly excited to have been selected for both the New Zealand Youth Swimming Team to the 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, and the New Zealand Junior Black Fins to the 2016 World Surf Lifesaving Championships. The Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships are to be held in Hawaii on 24 – 27 August 2016 and from there I will travel on to the Netherlands to join the NZ Junior Black Fins to compete between 7 – 11 September 2016. Both these events are self funded and costs including airfares, accommodation, food, uniform, etc are in excess of $15,000.

Home Again! 18 September 2016
Hi all - so I'm back home after an amazing experience.
2016 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, Hawaii
7th - 1500m freestyle (A final)
13th – 800m freestyle (B final)
15th – 400m freestyle (B final)
I achieved two Personal Bests in his 400 and 800 freestyle races.
From Hawaii, Lewis and I managed to navigate ourselves safely to London via LA. We were given a whirlwind four hour tour of central London courtesy of Lewis's uncle. The next morning we boarded the Eurostar to the Netherlands to meet up with our Junior Black Fins teammates.
2016 World Surf Life Saving Championships, The Netherlands
Gold medals – Tube Rescue, Line Throw
Silver medals - Beach Relay, Taplin Relay
Bronze medal – 200m with Obstacles
Then it was a 40 hour trip home via Singapore! Awesome trip around the world and rapt to bring home some medals and to have been part of two awesome teams. The NZSLS Junior Black Fins were second overall!
