We're climbing 1000 vertical metres, to help people with Multiple Sclerosis get outdoors.
Canterbury
We are passionate about helping others with Multiple Sclerosis get outside. That's why a group of us are going to raise funds by climbing 1,000 vertical metres.
This is a pretty epic challenge: 1,000m is more than four times the size of the Auckland Sky Tower, and more than the height of Burj Khalifa – the world's tallest building! Climbing with Nick Allen, we will achieve this goal as a tag-team and have a blast doing it.
The money we raise will be donated to Mastering Mountains Charitable Trust, where the money will be used to help people with MS overcome specific problems that prevent them from getting outdoors. Mastering Mountains grants have a huge impact on the lives of people and we are excited to support it the cause! Click here for more info: http://www.masteringmountains.org
If you're keen to join in the fun, come along to the YMCA Adventure Centre (239 Waltham Road) on Friday, the 9th of November, from 5pm. Whether you can complete one climb or ten, it would be awesome to see you there.
Mastering Mountains Charitable Trust exists to enrich the lives of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis by helping them get outdoors. Getting outdoors has an incredible therapeutic quality. Multiple Sclerosis can hinder people from the fullest experience of this and Mastering Mountains hopes to overcome this problem.
As an expression of this purpose, we have four goals:
- Support others through the Mastering Mountains Scholarship Fund
- Change the perceptions of MS and bring hope
- Highlight the importance of correct nutrition and exercise
- Provide supportive community
Mastering Mountains is a registered charitable trust.
