Marina, nearly at full term pregnancy, is being forced from her home, and husband, because of war in Ukraine.
Accompanied only by her sweet 4 year old boy, Mikhail, and aging Mother they have to travel from Odessa to Poland. Here, they are likely to bring this special new life into the world in refugee like conditions, poor hygiene and rationed food. Possibly, corrupted by bribery and coercion.
This is just one tragic story amongst many in the conflict in the Ukraine, but with your help we can make a difference, one win, to help bring an innocent child into this world amidst the horror of war and displacement.

What happened next 25 August 2022
Hi all,
Just to let you all know, Marina, Mikhail made it safely through to Austria, where a little baby girl was born, in suitably dramatic circumstances!
Now six months into the war they have settled down with Marina's Dad also joining them. Given the situation they are getting by as well as can be expected, with support from the Austrian government, some kind volunteers and finding what work they can in the local area.
Most importantly they are happy and healthy and looking forward to a day when they can go home.
Thank you ever so much for your support it was incredibly helpful, especially in the early days getting them to where they needed to be and helping provide for such a young family.
