A Chance for Charlie - I am swallowing my pride and asking for your help

A few weeks ago I was made aware of this beautiful goofy boy desperately seeking a home, as his owner was no longer prepared to care for him.

Charlie unfortunately has had a very unsettled life. He is completely deaf, but very clever and can understand basic sign language! When I heard about Charlie’s story, I made the decision to travel 4 hours to take him on for a 2-week trial, and ultimately all going well, give Charlie his best life with me and my two children.

Once home, I noticed a raised lump on Charlie’s leg, so off to the vet we went. The vet recommended a needle biopsy, which unfortunately has confirmed skin cancer. Even though we have only had Charlie for a week now, as dogs do, he has stolen our hearts, and I am at a loss of where to go from here.

The vet has recommended this lump/mass be surgically removed and sent for further cytology and staging so we can get a better idea of what his future holds. The estimate for the surgery alone is $1600, with aftercare expenses such as crating, a wound protecting collar to be made, etc all to consider as well. This has obviously been a devastating outcome for us, and I now have been unexpectedly faced with the decision of his health going forward, and the worry of how I am going to fund all of this. I want to do whatever I can to give Charlie the opportunity at living his best life for as long as possible, so I ask whether you would be kind enough to consider a donation for Charlie’s upcoming surgery and vet expenses.
