Supporting the Wilkin family as they stand beside Caitlyn, helping ease financial stress so they can focus on being with her.

Kaipara Flats, Auckland

As many of you know, the Wilkin family are facing the toughest and most heartbreaking time of their lives as their beautiful daughter, Caitlyn, fights with everything she has to overcome meningococcal sepsis and meningitis. No family should ever have to endure what they are, and right now their entire focus needs to be on being by her side.

Anyone who knows Fran, Todd, and their family knows they are always the first to help others. They have spent years giving their time, energy, and hearts to their community—serving on committees, volunteering, supporting their children's passions, fundraising, organising events, caring for other people's children, taking on horses others had given up on, and always showing up when someone needed a hand. Their generosity has touched countless lives.

Now it's our turn to stand beside them.

While we can't change what they're facing, we can help ease the financial burden so Fran and Todd can focus entirely on Caitlyn without the added stress of lost income, travel, accommodation, and the many unexpected costs that come with a medical crisis.

If the Wilkins have ever helped you, supported your family, or simply inspired you through their kindness, this is an opportunity to give back. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and remind them they are not facing this alone. Let's wrap our arms around this incredible family and show them just how loved and supported they truly are.

Strictly no media enquiries.

An update on Caitlyn  27 July 2026

We are grateful to be able to share some positive news. Over the past 12 hours, Caitlyn has made some significant progress that has, incredibly, exceeded all odds and medical expectations. While this is a very encouraging development, she still faces a long journey of recovery and rehabilitation.

Caitlyn remains in hospital for the foreseeable future, and now begins what will be a lengthy period of recovery and rehabilitation. There will be many challenges ahead, and her family will continue to be by her side throughout every stage of her journey.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported the Wilkin family through donations, messages, and by sharing this page. Your generosity has helped ease the financial pressure on the family, allowing them to focus on being with Caitlyn and supporting her recovery.

The kindness shown by so many people has been greatly appreciated and has reminded the family how much support they have around them.

Thank you for continuing to keep Caitlyn and her family in your thoughts. We will share further updates as they become available.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
