A Daughter's Love

On the 8th of September Jens world came crashing down around her, she received one of the hardest phone calls a daughter should have to receive. Her mother back home in the Philippines had fallen very ill, she was rushed in for surgery after suffering from a stroke which caused bleeding on the brain. Jen did what any daughter would do she was on the first plane back home to be by her beloved mothers side, leaving behind her husband Joseph and daughter Mayzen in New Zealand.

Unfortunately back in the Philippines they are not as fortunate as us here in New Zealand with their medical system, and all cost must be paid for by the families involved. This soon has started to add up with medical bills now reaching $20,000NZD and climbing every day her mum is still in hospital. For the first 2 weeks her time was spent in the ICU, she has now been released into a normal ward and her recovery is slowly improving she will need to go through at least 6 month of rehabilitation to learn how to do some of the most basic things in life we all take for granted.

We are a group of work colleagues who have seen Jen be emotionally drained since she has come back from the Philippines and would give anything to try and help ease the burden of paying for medical cost for her and her family.

Jen and Joseph have now lived in New Zealand for approx. 10 years, they are both heavily involved in their local church and do a lot through them to give back to their community. One of the biggest reasons we are putting this out there asking for donations is because they are two of the most caring people we know and they would give as much as they could to anyone else in a similar situation.
