    Pieter is doing well. He is back at work taking it slowly but really doing well. He still goes for regular checks until doctors are happy. He has settled nicely in with his family, and they are slowly starting their new life in New Zaland!

    They just want to say thank you aging to everyone for all you have done and all your prayers. they believe that God gave them a miracle and they are forever great full. Thank you all xxx

    He is awake and responsive and holds on to hope!

    He has allot of pain but meds help.

    We are still waiting for results!

    Update on Pieter:

    Dr phoned.

    Pieter is is out of theater! They removed allot of stuff around the lungs and drained some fluid.

    They are sending it for test to see what type of infection they dealing with to beable to treat it. He has two drain pipes in his lungs and they will keep him sedated for his body to rest.

    Update on Pieter:

    Received feedback from the doctors - Pieter is booked for a "Right VATS Decortication" (possible thoracotomy). It seems as though pleural fluid build up in his lungs and it became infected. A collection of pus formed that thickened and these thick deposits coated the outer layer of the lungs. The decortication is a surgical procedure to remove the restrictive layer of fibrous tissue over the lung. The operation is scheduled for tomorrow. I am still waiting for an exact time. This is however deemed a major thoracic operation. The doctor stated that they will keep him heavily sedated following the operation to prevent any added distress to his body.

    Please pray for God's hand of protection as Pieter is still recovering from the open heart surgery...🙏🙌🩵💚

  • Pieter is transferred to Tauranga Hospital

    Update on Pieter:

    Pieter is showing progress every day and we are so thankful for the Hand of the Lord upon his life.

    He is going to be transferred back to Tauranga Hospital to receive the necessary treatment for the damage the heart condition caused his liver.

    We would like to thank everyone for every help in anyway you have given. All the messages and phone calls. The Givealittle-Hope that we are receiving. We canot explain the Hope the love from everyone!!!

    We are so so greatfull. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕

    The operation is behind him but now the road to recovery lies ahead.

    We are so thankful for everyone's support and prayers.

    Still waiting for full update from doctors as Pieter has water on his lungs again.... but we trust the Lord for full recovery 🙏

  • Update on Pieter

    Pieter is still under heavy sedation but they were able to take him off the ventilator. He is breathing on his own. They are keeping a close watch and he is being monitored carefully. Doctors are meeting later to decide what tubes to remove and which ones to keep intact for now.

    One of the nursing staff informed His wife that Pieter just came out of the operating theatre. They are stabilising him and will then move him to the Intensive Care Unit.

    According to the Cardiac Surgeon the next 40 hours will still be critical. 🙏♥️

  • Pieter's operation

    Pieter wil go into theater Tomorrow Monday 12th February at 8am for is Open-Heart surgery to remove the Calcified Fluid-fillled membrance around his heart!

    He wil be kept under sedation to heal. And will be in ICU for a while.

    He has a Team off 12 doctors working with him.

    Please pray 🙏 for full recovery and for his Wife and kids! Also for for the team that is working on him.

    I will keep everyone updated.

  • Opperation date

    Pieter is now transferred to Hamilton Hospital, where the operation date is Monday 12th February 2024.
