A fire took their home, but we can all help rebuild their future.

$11,174 of $20,000 goal
Given by 125 generous donors in 23 days

Grace and Rob woke during the night to find their home up in flames! Every little bit helps get them the basics right now.

Nelson

Hey Friends and extended community,

Last night a fire tore through our friends home, taking every single thing they owned apart from the family themselves.

Thankfully everyone made it out safe.

Grace, Rob, their two children, 5 and 7, dog and cat, woke to smoke and flames, leaving only time for the family to leave before everything else was gone.

This would be anyones worst nightmare and even more challenging in the days leading up to Christmas.

During the coming weeks as they pave out their new path forward, we invite you to contribute in anyway you can to help get them back on their feet.

At this stage any financial donations would be greatly appreciated to support their living arrangements, help get clothes, toiletries and food for the days ahead as they start to rebuild their lives.

Insurance has been contacted and they are awaiting to hear what may or may not be covered

Any donation big or small will help make the world of difference to this beautiful family during such a challenging time.

Thanks so much for your support, donations and well wishes.

Much love to you all, always.

From Dayna, on behalf of the family.

( If you Iive in Nelson and have any valuable household items you no longer need, please keep this family in mind as they will need to replace everything in the coming months.

Please contact Dayna on 0273936341 if you would like to donate anything and I can start a donations list. )

Dayna Williams' involvement (page creator)

I have known Grace since our teenage years growing up on the West Coast, and spent the last year together with her beautiful family since arriving in Nelson from Australia.

Use of funds

The money will be spent on accomodation until they find a new living arrangement, food, clothing, toiletries and getting a start on rebuilding their future.

Hey beautiful people Rob, myself and our wee family appreciate your support in this difficult and surreal time.

The kindness and generosity family, friends, the community and even strangers have shown us in the last few months is touching.

We are now in a rental awaiting our next steps. Your donations have helped us set our home up and given Aria and Niko a lovely christmas.

We appreciate each and everyone of you, its hard to put into words.

Stay safe and connected.

Love and light Rob, Grace, Aria, Niko, Evie(dog) and Cat (Fuzzy Rupert)

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
