Bringing family and friends together to gift Jess a precious little kitten to support her recovery 🐈⬛
Nelson
Dear family and friends of Jessie,
Are you keen to support Jess but not sure how you can help? Well, together we can gift her the one thing she really wants right now - a Burmese kitten!
Jessie is bravely enduring a tough treatment regime to beat her cancer and we want to give her something special to look forward to for when this is all over. Something positive to focus on that’s just hers, and something she can pour her love into as she recovers in the months and years ahead.
Jess has her heart set on an adorable little bundle of fur. A Burmese Mandalay Ebony kitten that will be old enough to move to its forever home after July. Her eyes light up when she talks about it (just ask her to tell you all about it!).
I’m hoping that together we can raise around $2,500. The kitten doesn’t cost that much, but there will be vet bills, pet insurance, and accessories etc that it will need, especially in the first 6 months.
So, you are warmly invited to contribute any amount you wish ($5 is truly OK) to help bring that sparkle back to Jess’ smile. This will be a communal gift from family and friends near and far to acknowledge the tough times Jess has faced and mark the next chapter in her life as a teenager with a bright future ahead of her.
And yes, Sarah and Steve are on board and looking forward to having Jess, and her new kitten, home as soon as possible.
Thanks everyone,
Jo Hathaway (a friend of Sarah's) and Ardan Hathaway (9 yrs old and a lover of all things soft and fluffy)
I have been friends with Jess' mum Sarah since primary school.

Thank you!! 10 August 2025
Thank you all for your wonderful support during this time. Jess has now finished her treatment, and is back home with her darling kitten Tom!
She is doing great, and is even back at school and ballet! We recently got the good news there is no longer any sign of cancer, which is a huge relief.
Tom has been such an important part of her recovery, giving her something to look forward to while she was in hospital, and now that they are home, he continues to bring so much joy to the whole family, and especially Jessie!
