Supporting a child on life support is a stress on its own without the added burden of finance.PLease help support this family.
Auckland
Martina is a shy talented 14 year old who loves music, art and Ed sheeran. She was diagnosed with Nemaline Myopathy (NM). when she was four months old. This is a rare condition with very little in the way of support in the world..It is characterized by muscle weakness affecting the ability to move freely, speak loudly and play sport. Martina has undergone a lot of surgery in the past and even more of recent.
In January Martina 's world was rocked when abdominal pain resulted in her being admitted to PICU (Intensive care) at Starship hospital. Within 35 days Martina had to undergo two major surgeries including a Tracheotomy to assist her to breathe.
(Martina's Mum has had to give up work to look after her daughter.Martina's Dad is working as hard as he can to support the family. The family have had to move to the hospital to be close to Martina as she learns to breathe by herself. Like any loving family, the family want to be together to support eachother and give Martina the best they can.
The funds raised through this page will enable the family to focus on their daughter without the added worry of finance. It will help pay for the extra rehabilitation Martina will need and the cost of living for the family during this trying time.
.
I have got to know Martina and her family over the past couple of years and see the extensive love and support they give their daughters. They are now in need of financial help to ensure Martina has the quality of life she deserves and assistance to fulfil her dreams.
Money raised will help finance rehabilitation for Martina (not covered by NZ government,) and aid the family with the cost of living.
