Shane Anderson raises awareness for veteran mental health and wellbeing by walking with his dog the length of the nation.
Nationwide
A Long Walk Home Soldier is a powerful journey of endurance, reflection, and purpose. Shane Anderson and his dog Missy will walk 3000 kilometres across Aotearoa, this kaupapa raises awareness for veteran mental health and the challenges many soldiers face when returning to civilian life.
More than just a walk, it is a movement of brotherhood, healing, and connection. Along the way, stories are shared, conversations are opened, and communities come together to support those who have served.
This journey honours the strength of veterans, encourages others to walk alongside the kaupapa, and reminds every soldier that they are not alone. Mauri ora.
I am Shane’s cousin and a proud supporter of this kaupapa, standing alongside him to help amplify the mission and raise awareness for veteran wellbeing.
Funds help cover travel, food, and essential supplies while raising awareness for veteran mental health and wellbeing. Donations also support opportunities for connection and kōrero with soldiers and their whānau. More details will be shared in a page update soon.
