This page is set up to help them. Anything you can give, anything to help them would be amazing as they both don't work at the moment.
Nationwide
This story is about Jade and her family. She was 26 weeks pregnant and she went to Gisborne for a new job, but found out too late that they wouldn’t accept her in the end because of her health. To make matters worse, she ended up with a heart infection and was rushed to Wellington hospital. Her body decided to give birth, prematurely. She was rushed into maternity, to give birth by caesarean, but she had one baby in the hallway and then shorty after out popped the second baby. Both premature babies (a boy and a girl, twins) survived the traumatic birth and are in incubators. They are being treated for the same heart condition as Jade. Mum was told she had to be rushed into surgery for her heart infection. The bacteria was found in one the chambers that had grown. They have now replaced it with a mechanical valve. You can imagine the fear and trauma. Dad and the 15 month old toddler have come to Wellington to see mum. They wouldn’t hold his job open for him so he’s also lost his job. This situation is a tragedy of blows for this poor family. The 15 month old has now picked up the Rotovirus (RSV) that’s going around the hospitals. So, the three of them have been put in quarantine in a motel room. Mum, dad and toddler can’t even see the new born twins. Can you imagine the emotion of giving birth and not being able to see your babies? I went to visit them. It is a sad, sad story. They are trying to cope with everything; Jade’s missing the connection with her twins, and dad is trying to keep everything going and hold them all together.
Once the 15 month old daughter was symptom free and cleared dad has taken her back home for some normality as she could not handle being in the room any longer. So mum had been advised that she has to now stay another 2 weeks away from the twins and this was her breaking point. Not being able to see her babies for a total of 4 weeks has broken her not to mention coping with open heart surgery and not having family around her.
I went and rescued her and she has now been reconnected with family in Gisborne so she can heal mentally and spiritually to gain strength once again to be able to come back down to Wellington to hopefully be able to reunited with her twins. There will be constant traveling between both towns till she can have her babies under one roof.
They have no income. Nothing to fall back on. So, I wanted to put this Give-A -Little page together to help them. Anything you can give, anything to help them would be amazing to see them through this time until mum, dad, and all three babies can be back together again.
Thank you in advance from Jade, Bailey, Jae’li, Zehn and Zebulon
We have been like family to Bailey for many years as he is like another son to my husband and I.
This is the worst nightmare anyone could go through just when they have moved up north to start a new life when tragedy strikes.
Will be for their day to day living along with the trips between the towns and help for them to just keep going and setting up things for the twins as they are premature.
