A new chapter starts here :)

In May 2024, I was involved in a car accident, checked over by ED staff and deemed healthy. February 2025, I began noticing changes, by April, the pain had become unbearable, and I saw my GP. Unfortunately, no one knew exactly what was causing it. I was prescribed pain relief to help me.

I paid for my own scans. The initial thought was that one of my breast implants had ruptured, likely as a result of the accident and contacted ACC.

Over the following months, I struggled to find a specialist locally—or even in surrounding regions—as I was repeatedly told my case was too specialised. The only option was private care, but I couldn't afford it without ACC's support.

6 months of back-and-forth, ACC agreed to fund the investigations which found: the implant wasn't leaking but surgery was still necessary.

The recommendation was to remove both implants, as damage to one often means the other is also at risk. While ACC agreed to cover part of the treatment, and declined to fund the full recommended surgery or provide support for my recovery time away from work. With no real alternative, I booked surgery in January 2026 for July 2026 and hoped I could find a way to manage the financial impact.
