Matthew, our lonely little grandson in need of a doggy friend.

We have opened this give a little page because we know that there are some good people out there who understands what difference a little doggy family member can make in one lonely little boy's life. We also know that there are people out here who knows that, for a lively little boy, growing up with two old folks isn't easy.

Our grandson, Matthew, has been in our care for a little over four years now. He was just 16 moths old when Child Youth and Family decided that he would be better off living with us. He is now a very lovable, lively little 5 year old.

About a year ago, Matthew started asking questions about the possibility of having a little sibling. It wasn't easy to explain to him that this was the one thing we could not provide. We realized then that he was feeling lonely and desperately in need of someone to play with.

Even though he does have cousins and friends, it wasn't enough to fill a big empty hole in his life and we realized that the only way we could fill the void would be to get him a little puppy. We soon realized that, due to financial reasons, this was not going to be easy.

We have been watching the SPCA and dog rescue pages, but it seems like they only have large breeds for adoption and, due to the size of our backyard, Matthew's little pup would have to be small to medium sized. Looking at other pages, made us realized that buying a puppy is really expensive!

This is why we are now reaching out to the public to help us buy a puppy sibling for little Matthew. Please reach into your hearts and into your pockets to give a little for this worthy cause. No matter how small the donation, every bit helps to make a big difference in one little boy's life!
