A special bike for a special guy

Jaymi is a growing young man who has been diagnosed with multiple complex special needs. Jaymi struggles with fine and gross motor skills and he gets overwhelmed with increased sensory inputs. This means that he is unable to ride a standard bicycle as the moment he starts to pedal on a normal seat his balance shifts and things just get too much. Jaymi dearly wants to be able to 'Ride bikes with my dad'. After a session with Trikes NZ in Levin who provide custom solutions for people with disabilities it was found the best option for Jaymi is a recumbent tricycle. With the proper seated position and the support from the seat this removes a huge amount of the sensory issues with Jaymi feeling supported and secure while pedaling. Other issues Jaymi has are with a very poor diet with Jaymi being very underweight and has difficulty sleeping. With the ability to exercise we are hoping that this will increase appetite and fitness plus a tired boy is a sleepy boy.

However this comes at quite a significant cost. While my wife and I are able to come up with over half of the cost for this unfortunately we are not in a position to fully fund this at this time and we are asking if you could please provide a little bit of assistance to enrich Jaymis life this will be most appreciated.
