I believe I can walk again with Etanercept Treatment
Hamilton, Waikato
Hi I'm Wayne.
I am retired but used to train registered nurses in Hamilton, Waikato and Sydney. In April 2024 I suffered a stroke while I was in the middle of my doctorate which was about the Ngaruawahia Hakarimata Bush Walk. How I miss the glow worms and miss the bush walks and river walks with my grandchildren. Here's a funny story when I was walking along the Waikato River. I watched 40 Tui in one Kowhai tree feeding on Kowhai nectar. They had such a sugar high they fell out of the tree and stumbled on the grass like drunkards. I love nature. Now I can only get around with a stick and am susceptible to falls.
I knew a Kiwi gentleman in the South Island who had a stroke. He had treatment using the drug, Etanercept. He could walk, mow lawns and garden again. I knew research on the drug Etanercept was being conducted at Griffith University, Queensland. The studies are continuing. I contacted the Institute of Neurological Recovery who ran the Etanercept treatment. I was assessed by Dr Edward Tobinick MD who confirmed I could undergo the treatment. He injects the Etanercept into the spinal cord and goes from there to the brain where it invigorates stroke affected areas. I know thousands of patients could walk again after undergoing Etanercept treatment. I believe I can walk again. It is my hope that my success with Etanercept will inspire other NZ stroke victims to do the same.
Airfares return to Florida. Petrol. Accommodation in Florida. Not sure yet how long I'll have to stay Travel within Florida. Cost of Etanercept. If I don't meet my target I will spend the money on equipment to help me remain active and on my wife as well.
