Support Ukrainian families stuck at the war
Auckland
My beloved sister who has three small kids is stuck in the epicentre of the present war (or whatever terminology is to call this terrifing conflict with Russia).
The family of five moved out of Kiyv, the capital, to a rural area for shelter nearby on the day of invasion.
They are all horrified and in absolute uncertainty what next hour will bring. They straggle financially, but need to get out of this surreal situation as soon as possible. Movements within the country are now dangerous in any directions. Their transport is limited.
Please help to support the family in any way they need at the moment: with relocations and living costs assiciated with it or anything urgent that might appear to be needed.
My immediate family: my sister and parents
Relocation to a safer place and associated living costs and any immediate needs of my sister family as well as my parents.
Your help was invaluable and was life changing for the family! THANK YOU 9 August 2022
We wanted to give all our kind donors an update on how their generousity has been instrumental in the real change for one Ukrainian family during recent tough times up there in Ukraine.
Today New Zealand Herald has published an article on our story here:
It doesn't convey, however, the entire scope of people's love, kindness and generosity we all have received over the last months, starting with this fundraising page.
We wanted to thank each and every of you for your help and support, which have been invaluable. With the funds gathered here were were able to purchase the family airfare to come to New Zealand on the 5th of June. That, however, was eventually postponed because of the airlines; and the family could only arrive to New Zedaland in the end of July (and we had to re-purchase the airfare, nearly double the amount).
But the main thing is the family with us, safely escaped the war and we are all so greatful for this opportunity to you all!
We would absolutely not being able to make it without you!
A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
