On the 8th and 9th of May, I competed at the Oceania Champs in Cairns. I used this competition as a warm up event for the World University Games so I could see which of my 10 events need more work, and see how my training has progressed. I had a no height in High Jump, which means I get no points. However, I still managed to finish 2nd in the Decathlon behind fellow Kiwi, Brent Newdick. It was a good learning curve for me as I learnt how to cope with the pressure of a scoring no points in an event.
