Abandoned old fishing boat Timor Sea swam to Island of Ataúro

$580 donated
Given by 15 generous donors in 8 weeks

I've logged my whole story in my Facebook page with videos and pics of the whole drama here: https://www.facebook.com/johno.caldero

Nationwide

I am reluctantly asking for any small donation.

I just found out that I must foot the bill for a hotel plus food in Dili, E Timor for 2 weeks forced quarantine/detainment.

Then hopefully travel back to E Java to continue with our wedding plans.

It's costing Us$40 per night! Plus minimal food.

I'm not allowed out to the sun and must excercise within the room.

I'm 67 and been a fisherman all my life.

I've been staying mostly in my hammock in jungle to try and save the little money I have over after my pension pays the rent and costs back in NZ.

The guy I chartered a small boat to take me back to Alor, took my last 30,000 Rupia for the trip, told me we'd reached Alor, i knew this to be untrue.

We had an argument over this and I decided to swim to the nearest land.

This was NOT Alor but Ataúro (part of E Timor)

Where i am reluctantly holed up being informed by the NZ Embassy here that I must foot the bill for hotel, food, possibly legal fees, transport back to Surabaya.

Use of funds

I intend to use any small contribution raised to pay the hotel & food bill, the bus back to Kupang and the ferry from there to Surabaya.

Should there be any surplus money, I will help the people struggling to survive in the village of my fiance.
