2015 marks Cindy’s 35th year of ministry. It's time Cindy had a vehicle - she has spent her life raising funds and doing things for others.

2015 marks Cindy Perry’s 35th year of ministry in the Himalayas, first in Nepal, and since 1995 in the Eastern Himals of India doing leadership development and encouraging indigenous ministries. Born and brought up in Nebraska, USA, Cindy’s journey as a follower of Jesus took her to Project Kibbutz in Israel in 1978, on to serving the Nepali churches from 1980 as a member of the International Nepal Fellowship and as Coordinator of the Nepal Church History Project, until forced to leave the country the end of 1987. During the following two years in the US she completed an MA in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton Graduate School, and wrote and published A Biographical History of the Church in Nepal. She completed her PhD in 1994 through the Centre for the Study of Christianity in the Non-Western World, University of Edinburgh, where she was instrumental in establishment of the Himalayan Collection, and her research was later published as Nepali Around the World.
From 1995 Cindy made her residence in Siliguri, West Bengal, India from where she founded and directed Himalayan Ministries for 10 years among the Nepali diaspora, and also served as International Coordinator for the Himalaya 2000 (Him-COE) movement.
From April 2005 Cindy joined Development Associates Int’l (DAI) as Senior Consultant for the Himalayan Region, where she pioneered the Himalayan Leadership (HimLead) program, and helped establish DAI’s Masters in Organizational Leadership in five new centres – North-Bengal/Sikkim, North-East India, Nepal, Myanmar, and most recently in Bangladesh. From January 2015 she was appointed as DAI Director for South Asia, and she looks forward to continuing to serve and walk alongside national leaders throughout the region -- delighting in all that God is doing in and through their lives.
Cindy's transport has mostly been by way of motor bike but 12 months ago Cindy was involved in an accident where she was badly injured. Cindy has recovered but it is time to help her find a safer means of transport and a number of her friends and supporters are keen to provide her with finances for a car. The options have been thoroughly researched to determine the most cost effectiove option. When Cindy is not using the car it will be used by her team at Siliguri for ministry work.
I'm involved because I'm a friend of Cindy's, I've seen something of the work that she is doing and I want to support her in that. I know that a number of Cindy's co-workers and friends are keen for her to have a car and I would like to help make this happen.
This church may be small in size, but is very active in the community, offering many activities and sharing the love of Christ in a very practical way.
