New Zealander, Bronte Coluccio, fundraising for overseas FIG Academy 2 coaching course and BREVET judging course in aerobic gymnastics.
Auckland
For over ten years I've been heavily involved in aerobics in New Zealand and now appeal to the community to help me further my education so I in turn can continue serving the greater aerobics community.
I am attending the FIG Academy 2 Coaching Course for Aerobic Gymnastics in Canberra, Australia in December of 2016, and I shall be there with the intention of learning and bringing back knowledge to the New Zealand aerobics community. On completing the course, I will be working alongside Amy Williams of Aspire Aerobix to update the current Gymsports New Zealand aerobics coaching programs to make them more applicable and relevant for our developing coaches and athletes.
In January of 2017 I will again be returning to Canberra but this time to attain my BREVET judging qualification. We currently have a shortage of BREVET standard judges in New Zealand and having this qualification will greatly alleviate the pressure from existing judges.
Costs:
FIG Academy 2 Course: $1200
Return travel FIG Academy 2: $980
BREVET Course: $1219
Return travel BREVET course: Funding secured by Gymsports New Zealand
I truly appreciate every little bit of help you may be able to offer. Those in the aerobics community will know that I'm not doing these courses for my own benefit, I'm doing them knowing that it will be for the greatest benefit of our New Zealand athletes. The higher qualifications we can secure for our officials, the higher the standard we may be able to train all our athletes and thereby grow aerobics gymnastics.
FIG Level 2 Coaching Academy 11 January 2017
Hi everyone!!
Thank you so much for all the support thus far. It's really a blessing to have the community behind me
I've now completed and passed the first educational course in Canberra and am fervently studying for the next in just over 2 weeks time.
The FIG Level 2 Coaching Academy was a fantastic experience, and it was great to learn from, and connect with so many coaches from around Australia and the world.
There were three Gymsports in attendance, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Trampolining, and Aerobic Gymnastics. We attended our theory lectures together and then separated out to specialized practical lectures hosted by local and international experts.
Our examination consisted of a theory exam, a mini routine and presentation, as well as an element presentation. Each of these accounted for one third of our final mark.
I'm proud to say the Aerobic Gymnastics coaches yielded the highest marks of the 3 participating Gymsports. Furthermore, my final grade of 88% placed me 3rd amongst these Aerobics Gymnastics coaches.
This past weekend, I have been lucky enough to share some of my knowledge gained on the course in Northland with Active Attitude. I'm also looking forward to sharing more at Gym School this following weekend:
