  • Latest Update

      4 September 2021

Kia Ora team. With your contribution, we were able to raise over 6.5k. We have just heard from our contacts in Kabul that thankfully WesternUnion has resumed its services in Afghanistan https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/exclusive-western-union-resuming-services-afghanistan-senior-exec-2021-09-02/

We hope to transfer all the funds raised as soon as Givealittle makes it available. The money that we have raised will no doubt ease the strain of many families during these uncertain times. We will continue to keep you all updated.

    Blessings,

    Bariz

  • Update on the situation

      20 August 2021

    Kia Ora everyone,

We hope this update finds you well. To those who shared this campaign and to those who shared funds, we acknowledge your humanity. Together, we were able to raise over $5,000 in less than 4 days.

From our contacts in Kabul on the ground, we have been told the following,

    - Majority of people feel safer than before, in terms of security. Those displaced are able to return back to their provinces, however, lack the means to do so

    - The US is saying they are able to process 6000-9000 people per day at the airport, yet those on the ground claim that this is not actually true. They only accept those with relevant papers. People on the ground who fear the lack of opportunities, and the Taliban for their history, are heading to the airport in hopes of being let through without papers

    - This has caused absolute chaos outside the airport

    - They also claim western media are only showing one side of the story

An honest review of the situation at the airport,

We hope the situation in Afghanistan changes for the better. We will continue to keep you posted on the situation.

    Blessings,

    Bariz & Saba
