Back running AFO

I am fundraising for an AFO ankle foot orthotic. This will give me more movement in my foot.

Canterbury

s some of you know I had a severely prolapsed L4/L5 disk November 2013. I had 3 back operations in 2012 and a result I have footdrop, a simple name for a very complex condition.

As a result I have lost all feeling from below the right knee and cant lift my right foot. This creates walking and running a problem. I am still working with a team of experts in physio, pain management and pyschologist to learn to live with footdrop.

In the two years, I have leant to walk with the aid of an AFO (Ankle Foot Orthotic) The one available with ACC is a very big bulky plastic thing that really restricts moments.

I am trying to fundraise for a slim line carbon AFO available in the USA, but its not covered by ACC and cost around $3000. The AFO from the USA will give me more movement but still supporting my foot, this will help me play my sport and live life without limitations. fingers crossed.

I am also going to be setting a person goal of walking 200ks over the month of November.

If you wish to help me on my journey I would be really grateful.

Huge help in advance.
