My dad has been in constant pain for over a year. We finally have hope with a surgery that can get him out of Chronic Pain.
Warkworth, Auckland
After more than a year of pain, falls, and medical frustration, we finally have hope.
My dad has been living in constant, severe pain following a series of bad falls that left him struggling with what was first believed to be post-trauma arthritis.
Over time, the pain only got worse — until it became unbearable.
He’s now on multiple pain medications just to get through the day. But those meds come with serious side effects: he’s lost his appetite, struggles to work,
and is barely able to live a normal daily life. It’s heartbreaking to watch someone you love suffer like this.
Now — finally — there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
A new specialist believes there is a surgery that could relieve his pain and allow him to live normally again. But his insurance doesn’t cover it, and we’re facing around $45,000 in out-of-pocket costs for the surgery, recovery, and ongoing care + time off work living cost for 3-6 months .
If you’re reading this, we’re asking for your help — even a small donation can make a difference. If you can’t give, sharing this with your community
means just as much.
We want nothing more than to see him pain-free, able to eat, move, and live again without depending on medications that are now hurting more than helping.
Thank you for reading, for donating, and for caring.
We’ll keep updating this page as we go — and we’re so grateful for your support.
The money will be spent on the surgery, recovery costs and hopefully some bills whilst he is off work to support his wife & home.
Thank you so much Dani! Your donation is helping us get dad one step closer to recovery!
Knowing your took the time to support unlike this is incredibly moving. It gives dad hope!
