Poppy is actively working hard to create a positive future for her family and be a good example to others

Manawatu / Whanganui

Many years ago I had the opportunity to foster a lovely wee girl (Poppy)...for a short while .

I did not intentionally became a foster parent

This happened after I laid a complaint about the CYPFS home she was in and suffering obvious neglect ... unclean, lice ridden, always hungry... she was a waif and suffered many traumas - including ongoing countless indignities and abuse while in state care .

Poppy has had disassociation from her family of origin who were/are/ongoing living their own institutionalised nightmares teamed with gang affiliation, poverty, drug dependency and violence

Poppy was ejected by state care at 17 and has worked so hard to have a better life and better future than the one she has known .... she simply wants dignity

To create the freedom from poverty/state dependancy Poppy knows education is her special weapon.

Poppy is currently studying pre entry so she can complete a Bachelor of Nursing

If successful Poppy will be the first in her family to gain tertiary education

Poppy has 2 beautiful preschool boys. She has no car. When you are poor and dependant and alone this is hard but part of the package.

I truly believe that a reliable car will be the most practical support society can contribute to this family as Poppys journey to study each day is a hard one pushing her boys in their stroller in all weathers early in the morning to get them to daycare and then herself to school then there is the long hard journey home .

Poppy truly deserves support for her vision

Poppy would never ask she simply endures

If you believe in people helping themselves this is the one cause you should give to.

Poppys dream of a profession , a living wage, a life free from dependancy will impact on future generations if she succeeds .... she is the link to breaking the cycle ... no gangs for her boys !!
