Ahi Toi is a compassionate community initiative dedicated to providing the resources and support needed for individuals and families

“As a leader, it is your responsibility to ensure that every member of the whānau and Iwi thrives. If even one person is struggling, it reflects a gap in our collective support and resources, and it’s your duty to address it.” - B
“Ahi Toi” combines two Māori words: ahi, meaning “fire,” and toi, which often refers to “art,” “creativity,” or “talent.” Together, “Ahi Toi” symbolizes a “creative spark” or the “fire of creativity.” It’s about igniting passion and inspiration, fostering art and growth, and nurturing one’s inner talent to contribute positively to the world around us.
Kia ora, my name is Bernadette, and I am dedicated to creating a community where people can find the resources, understanding, and support they need to heal and thrive. My vision is to cultivate a compassionate and inclusive network where everyone can access the help they need, when they need it. My own journey has driven me to create Ahi Toi.
Having experienced firsthand the flaws in our current system—especially in how we support children, women in the workplace, men affected by domestic violence, and troubled youth—I took one of my original business ideas and began to shape it into Ahi Toi: the missing parent, partner, friend, home, marae.
Thank you for reading, and I appreciate any support you can offer.

The first step is to secure a premises- so the funds will be used to cover the petrol costs of going to viewings and for paying the bond of the lease. Also any upfront costs such as rent in advance and legal processing fees.
