Aimee's road to recovery fund, following the terrifying crash that almost took her life.

Auckland

Hi everyone, as you may know my best friend Aimee & her two beautiful babies Eliza-Trey(3) & Ermias(1) were in a very serious car crash last Sunday evening in Miranda. They were hit head-on by a careless drunk driver who crossed the centre line and smashed into them. Witnesses at the scene say he smelled of alcohol and had minor injuries, at the time he showed no remorse for the pain, fear and damage he'd caused.

Aimee was ejected from the vehicle through a window, it rolled multiple times and landed on top of her. She was found unconscious at the scene and airlifted to Auckland Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Chopper *Thank you!* other than severe emotional distress, the babies were amazingly unharmed <3 Praise God. Many helpers who witnessed the crash stopped to help, they recovered the children from the vehicle and made the fateful decision to lift the car off of her. Probably saving her from further harm.

Aimee suffered injuries to her back and spine, she has 1st-3rd degree burns on her lower body, pelvic area and legs. She has to undergo multiple surgeries and spend weeks in hospital away from her family who are missing her tremendously! She hasn't even been able to see or hold her babies properly since the accident and is going through some extremely upsetting post-crash trauma :'(

We are incredibly grateful she and her children escaped with their lives... Thank you so much to the many unsung heroes who were there on the day that stopped to help them, to the witnesses who helped get the car off Aimee. To the families who consoled the babies and called for help. To the emergency services who responded with care and to all those involved in her recovery thank you all so much.

The road ahead for Aimee and her little family is still unforeseeable. Though she is doing so much better than anyone could have expected, she will need to spend a lot of time hospitalised. The babies Eliza-Trey & Ermias will need care and support and of course their family car was completely written off in the accident.

So this page has been created for anyone who wishes to contribute towards Aimee's Road to recovery, big or small any contribution is humbly and gratefully appreciated. Thank you all for your well wishes and love towards her and her family throughout this distressing time.
