Alfie has an intellectual disability and he is an elite athlete - he needs help to attend the INAS Global Games in Brisbane Oct 2019.
Nelson / Tasman
My name is Alfie Linn, I am 17years old, I have Down Syndrome and I am on the autistic spectrum. I am a keen sportsman, I play college grade cricket, basketball and swim but my main sport is table tennis.
I have been nominated to compete at the INAS (International Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments) Global Games in Brisbane from 12th Oct – 19th Oct 2019.
I am a Paralympian table tennis player and I competed at the National Paralympics in November 2018 where I won 3 bronze medals.
This has enabled me to qualify to compete at an international level, the INAS Global Games is a great opportunity to play against people with similar disabilities.
The INAS Global Games is the world's largest sporting event for elite athletes with intellectual impairment. Over 1000 elite athletes will compete across nine sports in a captivating and inspirational celebration of sport, culture and ability.
As with all these amazing opportunities there is a cost involved and I am looking for donors, sponsors and supporters to help me fundraise so I can attend this event. I will need to be supported by an adult to attend so I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to get us to Brisbane and back.
Please help me if you are able – every little bit will help.
My other fundraising efforts will include: baking sales; quiz night; selling my photo cards; raffle; sausage sizzle and more....
