Support Alice Davies to compete at the IPF World Classic Sub-Junior & Junior Powerlifting Championship (Costa Rica) in August/Sept 2025.
Lower Hutt, Wellington
Awesome! NZ Powerlifting have confirmed Alice's selection for the IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championship this August. But there's only 13 weeks to competition day!
So far in Alice's sporting journey, training, coaching, and qualifying comps are self-funded by whānau (and her awesome barista skills!) Achieving the dream of representing New Zealand means asking for outside support.
Costa Rica is Alice's first international tournament and her last competing as a Sub-Junior (18 years and under). Goals are set for international medals in the Sub-Junior 69kg Women’s category and smashing her record total lift of 372kg at the Nationals.
Alice is putting serious effort into working two part-time jobs and her Bachelor of Nursing studies. Working hard to save as much as she can will only get so far. Every dollar donated will make the dream of competing on the world stage a reality. . . Official accommodation is $300 a night, airfares are LOTS, and feeding this athlete means a lot of carbs and protein.
"I've completely fallen in love with powerlifting. Testing my limits and training hard teaches me so much.
"I'm super grateful to have a Massey University Academy of Sports Scholarship that supports me with time to training and compete. But I don't receive any financial backing from anywhere. Representing New Zealand has always been a goal of mine and I'm incredibly grateful for anyone and everyone who could help me raise enough funds to cover costs."
Alice's parent (the lone parent variety!), biggest supporter, and number one fan.
Money raised will be used towards the costs associated with attending the IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championship. Flights, accommodation, uniform, entry fees, and feeding this girl!
