Auckland
Aliyah-Rose was born in Auckland hospital at 25 weeks gestation. Her parents, Kaylah and Darin were moved to Auckland Hospital, from Waikato to give birth as there were no beds available for Aliyah at Waikato Hospital.
Aliyah weighed 705 grams at birth and is a little fighter. The stay away from Hamilton has cause immense challenges, added to those already faced by the parents of an extremely premature baby. The lack of support at hand and the added costs of keeping a house in Hamilton and additional living costs in Auckland, have added further stressors to the young couple. Darin has done a great job supporting his young family but in doing so, neither parents are working and therefore the income is substantially reduced, causing further hardship. The aim of this page is to raise funds to ensure that Darin can take time off from his job, to be with his family during their time in Auckland.
It is expected that Aliyahs stay in hospital could be at least another 15 weeks.
