Amanda and Harlow

As they say 'dog is a mans best friend' well in this case woman’s best friend….Harlow is the sweetest wee Boston Terrier you will ever meet with a lovely soft temperament, and she is best friend to Amanda and has been the support she needed after the loss of her partner over 3 years ago, helping her through her grief and loss.

On Tuesday 26th September she was viciously attacked by another dog and is currently on life support while the team at The Animal Referral Centre are carrying out tests and scans to check for broken bones, neck, throat and lung damage and possible brain damage. On top of this Amanda has also received major damage to her hand in the process of trying to free little Harlow during the attack and has been told she will need surgery herself.

This means time off work while in recovery and the treatment for Harlow is mounting up. A few of her friends are gathering together to support them both as much as possible and we would like to offer others who are asking how they can be of support the opportunity to support both Amanda and Harlow in a way that will ease the pressure that Amanda will be facing in the coming days and weeks. If you know Amanda you know how amazing she is and how caring to everyone around her – often putting others before herself and giving of her time and care to both the humans and fur babies. In this traumatising situation she needs all the support we can give her so we have set up this page as a practical means to show support to Amanda and Harlow.
