Help with everyday life
New Plymouth, Taranaki
Kiaora everyone, as some of you know, the farther of my 3 oldest children has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
Mark is an amazing dad, and has decided not to have surgery for treatment.
The family have kept this quiet for a while, as Mark didn't want anyone to worry.
Mark has decided to do a steroid treatment. This treatment will be very hard on him.
He will feel sick, nauseous, tired, no energy and just down right feeling like crap.
But he will need help, for everyday expenses, as he wants to keep working, but that may not be a possibility. As treatment goes on. Any help is very much appreciated. Bless.
I will paste his treatment and conditions below.
Oxalaplatin injections every 2 weeks (with a review on 7th August). There will be 4 to 8 cycles. Leucovorin to be taken twice daily. Continue with Omeprazole twice daily (to ease the nausea). Paracetamol can be used but not Ibuprofen.
The most common side effects of Oxaliplatin include: nausea, numbness, pain, tingling, and/or burning along the nerves, vomiting and diarrhea.
Symptoms can last up to 3 days after injection, being worse on the second day.
Avoid cold drinks, and the use of ice cubes in drinks. Avoid cold temperatures and cold objects. Cover your skin if you must go outside in cold temperatures. Do not put ice or ice packs on your body.
Avoid chilled foods, citrus, spicy or aromatic dishes, unpasteurized dairy products, raw and deli meats, wash fruit and vegetables to avoid bacteria.
No alcohol
Nga mihi
Blessing to you all
The father of my 3 oldest children
