My son is passionate about Rowing. We're raising funds to help him achieve his dream of taking part in the Maadi Cup 2020.

Hawke's Bay

Dylan is my amazing, smart and considerate 17 year old son. Rowing is his passion, but it's a very expensive Sport. We can't afford all the fees, but it's what he loves to do, so we are trying to make it work. His dream is to take part in the Maadi Cup 2020 (more detail on this at the bottom of the page) and with your help, we can make it possible. Thank you for clicking on our page.

Dylan is a Year 13 student and the only rower in his state funded school is Hawkes Bay. Most of the other Rowers attend Private Schools which have Rowing as a Sport.

He's a brilliant student, top of his class and won the Earth & Space Science Cup for best Year 12 student last year. Even though Rowing keeps him very busy, he's also extremely diligent, studies hard, volunteers at Nourished for Nil and also have an after school job at our local pizza store to help pay for some of his rowing needs. Even though he doesn't have much, he is always willing to help anyone in need and I'm soooo very proud of him. I am only too happy to be his 'Uber' driver.

In January he won 2 silver medals in the North Island Club Championships, Intermediate Boys Category. After the next 2 regattas, he will also take part in the Maadi Cup 2020 which is taking place in Twizel on the South Island. It’s the National Championships for school rowing in New Zealand and it's also New Zealand’s largest rowing regatta. He has worked incredibly hard to get to this level.

The estimated cost for the Maadi Cup alone is approximately$2,100 per rower. That's over an above all the other Club fees, regatta fees, rowing suits, transport fees, accommodation fees, etc. Your support will help provide Dylan with the means necessary to take part in the Maadi regatta and make his dreams come true. The target is to raise $4000 for rowing overall and this years' fees. Thank you again for taking the time to read this, we really do appreciate your help.

Dylan is my 17 year old son. His school doesn't offer rowing, but he LOVES it and is very passionate about it. He had to join a rowing club, which we can't really afford, but he loves it. Won 2 silver medals in Jan North Island champs.

Use of funds

The funds will be used for paying all the rowing and Maadi Cup fees. If we exceed our target amount, it will go towards the purchase of a 1st car for him to get to University next year.
