In November 2018, Jared Ambrose contracted Meningitis and had a lumbar puncture to test for the infection. Unfortunately the procedure damaged nerves in his lower back and is unable to walk or sit for any length of time to the point that now he is hospitalised as he is losing control of his leg. We are trusting this is just temporary.
Jared has 5 boys aged 4-10 yrs and a lovely wife Liz, and he will be incredibly frustrated to not be able to be there for them, not to mention the chronic pain he is experiencing which takes its toll mentally also.
The income received from ACC and Working for Families is not enough to fund the basic living expenses for Jared's large family. To expect a family of 6 to budget just $150 a week for food and not enough left for any other extras that come along like car maintenance, presents for birthdays etc is a tough ask, which is why I'm asking you good people to dig deep for Jared and his family to help lighten the burden they will be feeling, going backwards several hundred dollars per week.
Jared is an honest hard working guy, and goes out of his way for others as he did for me. Believe me he would rather be at work rather than lying in a hospital bed. This is my way of trying to help him and his family as the treatment injury he received was a curve ball from no where and they really need our support.
Jared is a good friend whose family needs financial assistance due to his spinal injury and his inability to work currently, and the ACC income received is not enough to cover expenses. With 5 boys aged 4-10 years this would be very stressful for any parent, let alone when suffering personally from chronic pain. I want to do all I can to alleviate even a portion of the burden Jared's family is experiencing.
Funds raised will simply go towards the Ambrose family's day-to-day living expenses so they can put enough food on the table and run their very modest car for their 5 boys while Jared is in hospital and not able to work.
Home at last 26 April 2019
Hi generous people,
Jared is now home from hospital and is on a journey of recovery and healing which could take months. The docs said possibly even 6-12mths. But atleast Liz doesn’t have to commute to the hospital anymore and Jared is home with his 5 boys.
Thankyou so much to all of Jared’s friends and family who have donated, and an extra special Thankyou to those who don’t even know Jared but still gave. That takes a special type of empathetic person so Thankyou on the Ambrose’s behalf!
I’ll keep you up to date as to how Jared’s healing is going in due course.
Warm regards
Anthony Hunt
