  • Catch up with Amirah

      8 March 2020

Thanks to all of you that have been so generous with your donations.

I caught up with Amirah and her parents at the Ferry terminal the other day as Steve and I finished the north island leg of our ride.

Daelyn and Hamed are both grateful for all of the Aroha being shown to them and their girl Amirah.

Amirah is such a character. Confident and chatty.

My mate Steve captured some of our convos with Amirah and her parents on video. Will share some of it soon.

This fundraiser is made by an police officer who helped our family at the crash scene he's doing a bike ride from the top of the north island to the South Island over a period of 3 weeks how

Amazing is that he will record His whole

Journey and he also wants to talk about the safety on NZ roads along his way on the 22nd of this month. Hes asked to put Amirah for the fundraiser we are soo happy because we know Amirah would appriate all the help when she is older to help her future to give her the best future we can.

Amirahs been through a lot her whole life has changed and all we want is for our girl to feel like she is no different to anyone else we want her to be the happy girl she's always been.

Lane has been talking with us about other sort of equipments, we also don't know what the future will bring with all this new technology coming out.

You really just don't know what can happen in life. My innocent girl didn't deserve this a lot of opportunity now is minimum for her. Imagine waking up one day and you cant move or even that image your own kid/baby from

seeing them running around etc. She's recently just turned 3 she was only 2 and a half just a small baby when we had crashed

She's the most brave beautiful girl I have ever layed eyes on she has come such a long way and I'm so greatful for her she's a true blessing really makes you appreciate life a lot because we almost lost her. Even tho she's paralyzed chest down and cannot wee on her own her left hand is weak and can't fully open and hold things because of the nerve damage she can't fully sit up on her own for periods of time like we can she can't just get up and go get what she wants. She has to have all these new ways of doing things, we will now have to watch our girl enter primary in a wheel chair this is no way you would want to see your own child it's hard but I'm truely so proud of her and we as a family will always support her through life

Share around and let people have a read hopefully this helps with people to make the right decisions on the roads because in just a split second life can change because of someone's mistake you just never know you may do everything right and something could still happen to you

Thanks to all of those who have donated.
