Please help Jaxx on his long road to recovery.
Canterbury
On Sunday the 27th of September 2020 at around 10:30am one of the best natured, well mannered, and beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback pups (Jaxx) was struck by a car on his way home from a beach run.
Isaac Soper, was the first one on the scene as they are inseparable, I (Michael Burns) received a call shortly thereafter with Isaac devastated as he asked for my help with taking Jaxx to the vet, I have been a part of every decision made thus far about his wellbeing and his treatment.
Jaxx didn’t have the greatest start to life, his previous owner locked him in a corner of the property and was malnourished, Jaxx must have escaped this disgusting treatment, and was found wondering around a farm in Ashburton, the people who found Jax took him in and kept him safe unfortunately they could not keep Jaxx as they had animals of their own so they created a Facebook post in hopes of finding his forever home, Isaac’s flatmate at the time had messaged them and offered to take care of him until a forever home presented itself, as they were walking down the drive way to collect him, Jaxx ran straight over to Isaac and was overwhelmed with joy, Isaac very quickly decided to take Jaxx in and be his forever dad, and thus far have been side by side and they have both never looked back.
On the 27th of September 2020 this devastating accident occurred, it did not take the afterhours clinic long to do an ultrasound alongside full body x-rays, it turns out Jaxx has a severely dislocated hip, as a result of the dislocation his ligament holding his leg to his hip has ripped completely off and has taken a piece of bone with it, Jax is under going a surgery on the 29th of September 2020 where he will be getting a stainless steel rod put through the joint to promote the slow long healing process, this is however where things become tricky unfortunately due to covid-19 I am unable to pay for all his bills, which at this stage are looking around the $12,000.00 mark, all we are asking for is for you to give Jaxx one of your weekly coffees to help him get better and back home with the people that love him.
“Jaxx goes by many names, Jaxxius the Brave, The copper pup, Muppy and of course my favourite Jaxx, Jaxx is my best friend, brother and forever soul mate, Me and Jaxx have been through so much together and hope to have many more exciting days running around on the beach meeting other dogs and living his best life, his favourite meal is raw beef mixed in with chicken flavoured biscuits, in my eyes he is the best and only companion I ever want, from designing his very own collar to long walks on the beach he has been everything to me” – Isaac Soper
Please don’t let Covid-19 be the reason he cannot come home, if you would like any more photos or videos of Jaxx feel free to let either of us know. If anyone would proof of any vet bills, we have everything documented and available upon request.

Yours Sincerely

All money raised will go to Jaxx's medical bills, at this stage we are unsure what the total cost will be, if there is any money left over, it will go to the SPCA to help less fortunate animals.
