a please for Jhezel Marin, a 10 year old now fighting for her life
Mount Wellington, Auckland
My heart goes out to Jhezel Marin, a 10-year-old girl from Auckland, originally from the Philippines who is now fighting for her life after a severe health crisis. Jhezel was rushed to the hospital after her first menstruation which resulted in excessive bleeding that lead to dangerously low platelet levels (a 10 at some stage when normal levels are at least 150). After tests and transfusions, she improved briefly, but soon experienced severe headaches, dizziness, and a brain hemorrhage, which has resulted in paralysis of the left side of Jhezel's body and loss of vision in her right eye.
Diagnosed with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a rare immune disorder, Jhezel is now in the ICU of Auckland Hospital's Starship requiring constant medical care. Her parents (Razel Marin and Toto Marin) and one sibling face overwhelming emotional and financial strain as they stay by her side 24/7 because her devastating condition is still critical and unstable with a potential to cause further brain bleeding which could be fatal. Even after recovery, long-term medical treatments for ITP will be required.
Your support and generosity can make a difference in Jhezel's recovery and life.
Jhezel had been looking forward to returning to school and celebrating her 11th birthday. Her parents are by her side, but the financial burden is immense. Your donations can provide crucial support to Jhezel and her family during this incredibly challenging time.
I m a good friend of Jhezel's Mum and was also a previous colleague.
Support for Jhazel on-going needs not covered by the Public Health System so that her parents can continue to be by her side especially during this critical time.
Thank you everyone 8 February 2025
we jus wanted to say thank you to everyone who have offered financial support, prayers and messages. We were afraid that our dear Jhezel would not be able to celebrate her birthday today with us all. Jhezel is not out of the woods yet but with God's grace and on-going support we know she will get there. Again in behalf of Jhezel and her Family, a big thank you.
Thank You so much🙏❤️
