Anahera's Journey

$1,691 of $20,000 goal
Given by 29 generous donors in one year

Anahera has Burkitts lymphoma cancer she is on palliative care. The Whanau have started alternative treatment at a cost of $400 per week.

Nationwide

In October 2013 Anahera Herewini was awarded with the Positive Young Star Award sponsored by FYD Waikato, First Credit Union & Hamilton’s Press.

At 10 years old she was recognized as being a high achiever and positive role model.

In Feb/Mar 2014 she underwent numerous medical assessments for a period of around 6 – 8 weeks.

By April she was admitted into Waikato Hospital for further investigations.

The outcome from the above was a cancerous tumour.

A regime of Chemo treatments began in April. Buy early August the specialist said her condition had greatly improved yet further tests revealed that she had in fact relapsed. Consultation between specialist and Whanau resulted in chemo treatment being intensified. This intensified treatment also failed. Anahera has over 500 “beads of courage”.

Sadly Anahera's journey with cancer ended on 12 October 2014. Please see updates for further information.
