YOUR LITTLE WILL GO A LONG WAY!
On my partners and I recent trip to the very beautiful Samoa, we encountered a dark side on the sunny tropical island.
Animal abuse and neglect in its plenty. The animals in Samoa desperately need your help!
Horses tied to trees with one metre leeway, no water and their dress being their bones. Dogs, puppies, kittens and cats emaciated to the point of death within a few days.
After driving from a beautiful beach one day, I was looking out the window and spotted movement in an old bus shelter. It was three puppies no more than six weeks old. Luckily we had cans of fish and chicken, water and two containers ready to go...
As i fed the frightened puppies a lovely local pulled over asking if we were ok. I asked them about the puppies, he said someone would of dumped them there. This is very common in Samoa.
Knowing we could not leave them there, we popped them in the car and these puppies were getting their first night with people in the Sheraton hotel!
After freting and googling luckily APS (ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY) Samoa popped up, we rung them and organized to take the puppies the following day. Vet checks, vaccines and flea treatments all done and paid for. Now they are with a lovely foster mum awaiting adoption.
APS is the ONLY cause for animals in Samoa. It is a clinic with a staff of 2, and regular volunteer vets which fly from NZ, AU and Japan. They have absolutely no funding from the government and lacking in much needed medicines and treatment resources for animals and currently no rescue/education team.
We can't leave this in the hope more tourists stop and rescue animals. Animals need urgent care, food and water! Please donate today to ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY SAMOA for our funds to be put towards rescue missions, medicines and humane education programmes!
*Over the trip, we fed over 10 malnourished dogs and cats, rescued a total of 4 dogs (3 being puppies at 5 weeks old) and paid for all their vet bills and currently paying weekly bills to help their foster mum.
After a recent trip to Samoa turned into a rescue mission for animals with APS. Aps cares and loves animals but they need your help!
Funds spent on medicine, organising a rescue and education team. Excess will go towards the clinics infrastructure and buiding a boarding facility.
