Anna Leat: Fundraising for New Zealand Secondary Schools under 18 Football Tour to Thailand

Anna Leat, aged 13, has been selected for the National Secondary Schools Girls NZSS Under 18 Football team to tour Thailand In July 2015.

Anna needs to raise $4,500 to participate on this tour, which will give invaluable experience and opportunity to shine on the international stage in her pursuit of the ultimate goal of representing New Zealand in a Football World Cup.

NZSS Girls Football has an on-going commitment to providing development and football experiences to our country’s most talented Secondary School Age Group players and have organised this tour to Thailand.

The tour includes two International matches against the Thai Women’s National team, in addition to games against Premier women’s teams and trainings.

A key focus for the tour is to give the players international experience and opportunity to learn how to deal with a hot climate and touring conditions. In playing tests against Thailand the players will gain an invaluable insight into Asian football style. (Japan are the current women’s world champions).

Anna’s selection to this Under 18 football team comes following three years of excelling in the Auckland football community:

2014 – New Zealand Secondary Schools Under 16 tour to Sydney

2013-2015 Selection and attendance of five New Zealand Football National Talent Centre training camps

2013-2015 - Auckland Metro Boys leagues with East Coast Bays Football Club

2014 – Rangitoto College Girls First XI Football team, Rangitoto College Goalkeeper of the Year

Anna undertakes her own fundraising efforts and can be seen regularly busking in Takapuna at the Sunday Markets, or Queen Street.
