I am a young woman a few years older than your sister Anna Parsons. I heard about her story in the NZ news and I was moved to donate a small amount of money because I wanted to help.

After reading her story on that page and a few others, I was wondering if I could send Anna a card personally? If so, where could I send it to?

Also, I noticed that you left your email address for someone else to use and was wondering if I had any further questions, if I could please send you an email using that email address?

I was wondering if you would consider making it clear on this page that Anna was not freestyle climbing. I was surprised to notice that a lot of people are not very sympathetic to freestyle climbers but as soon as they hear that she wasn’t doing that their whole attitude changed and they immediately became e eager to help or make a donation.

My heart goes out to Anna and I wish her all the best.

Hello Anna family! I’m grateful you are supporting her best you can. Please be patient and kind as it’s very difficult for her to manage family and injuries simultaneously. I crashed paragliding at Big Sur CA and have nearly the exact same injuries and rescue story. My insurance was billed 5 million and it cost 800k to fly from CA back to Fla. the donations will help tremendously with family hotel stay near the hospital and modifying your house to accommodate her return home. Get her good snacks for her hospital stay, and her interaction with other injured people is key to understanding her recovery. I had one occupational therapist would bathe me omg it’s the little things that matter most. I pulled my feeding tube out, catheterized myself since I was a medic lol. I have so much nerve damage in my legs and often doctors and therapist can be wrong about your progress. Let her trust herself and the decisions she chooses. It’s a wild ride recovering and let her plan it out. Back off sometimes lol. Parents can be too pushy. I’d rather fall out of my wheelchair then have my mom hovering over me lol. Therapy is helpful learn what you need to and then leave. I had to conduct an entire meeting with doctors, staff, therapist to get them to agree to let me leave and go home. Hospitals love keeping patients for the money! My best investment was my chairlift from downstairs to get upstairs. If you don’t have a dog get one they become your best friend healing. Mine never left my side he’s more loyal then my family was. Apply for disability now, get handicap parking pass, keep medical records, ask questions and don’t be afraid to challenge doctors decisions. I’m 3 years post injury and grateful I have some normalcy back. I’m not afraid of dying now Lol. Hang in there kiddo!!!!

Hi Jessica, my son Bryce and his dad will be in Yosemite this coming week. They are coming from New Zealand. I am not sure what hospital she is in, but would Anna like some things delivered to her? They can take her some 'comforts' from NZ if you think it might help. Maybe even some L & P, or lollies- maybe some Milk Bottles. Thinking of Anna and your family.

Hi Anna, In respect of medical costs, have you lodged an ACC claim. If a NZ citizen/resident you are entitled to cover under section 22 and section 26 of Accident Compensation Act 2001. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.
