Anti Rodeo Action NZ investigates and exposes rodeo cruelty in NZ. Our goal is to get rodeo banned.
Auckland
You may be aware of the horrific rodeo footage from Mid northern rodeo earlier this month, shown on Checkpoint: http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/checkpoint/audio/201830403/rodeo-footage-shows-animals-restrained,-in-distress
As a result of public outrage over this footage, MPI have launched an investigation and multiple sponsors have withdrawn funding from the Mid northern rodeo.
Anti Rodeo Action NZ began investigating rodeos in 2012 and exposing findings to the public in 2013. Since then ARANZ has laid complaints that have initiated investigations by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) in 2014, 2015, 2016 and already in 2017.
Your support is appreciated as we expose the truth about rodeos and animal abuse.
Independently, two of our team began investigating rodeo in 2012, and attending rodeos in 2013. Since teaming up in 2013 we have investigated rodeos every season since and laid complaints with the Ministry for Primary Industries each year, resulting in huge pressure on rodeo clubs amid media exposure. Other like-minded individuals have come on board and more groups have formed. We believe clubs breach animal welfare laws at every rodeo. We write articles and Op-Eds and work with media to expose the brutal way rodeos treat animals. Our goal is to end rodeo in NZ. We formed ARANZ in 2015 in order to reach the public and help others take part in this movement.
Funds are needed to facilitate on-going rodeo investigations throughout New Zealand.
