Help me get to the World Transplant Games to honour my donor & raise awareness for organ donation. Every bit counts! ❤️ #WTG2025
Auckland
Hi friends, family, and kind supporters,
My name is Antony Vlatkovich. In 2023, I was given a second chance at life through a liver transplant. In August 2025, I’m proud to represent New Zealand at the World Transplant Games in Dresden, Germany, competing in pétanque – a sport I took up during my recovery.
This journey is about more than sport. It’s about celebrating life, raising awareness for organ donation, and showing that transplant recipients can live, thrive, and achieve amazing things.
My Story
At age 3, I was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer that had already spread to my lungs. I endured chemotherapy and lost 80% of my liver. Decades later, I faced liver failure caused by secondary biliary cirrhosis. In 2023, I received a life-saving liver transplant – a gift I’ll never stop being grateful for.
Since then, I've been rebuilding my life:
Training to compete in the World Transplant Games
Studying IT at Whitecliffe College
Advocating for organ donation and sharing my story
Connecting with amazing people through the transplant and donor community
How You’re Helping
By supporting this journey, you’re not just helping me – you’re:
✅ Spreading awareness about the power of organ donation
✅ Honouring my donor and their family
✅ Showing what’s possible after transplant
✅ Backing a Kiwi on a mission!
Thank you for reading, supporting, and sharing. I’m so excited about this adventure – but with your help, I’ll make it to Dresden and do NZ proud!
With love and gratitude,
Antony
The Games are self-funded. To get to Dresden, I need to raise funds for:
