Help our girls get to the NZ Junior Girls Rugby Festival in Christchurch.

Mount Maunganui, Tauranga

The Arataki Junior Rugby U11 Kōtiro (all girls) team is raising funds for 14 of our girls and 2 Management to attend the NZ Junior Girls Rugby Festival in Christchurch 22-24 September 2023. This tournament attracts girls-only teams from across Aotearoa and around the world.

For the past 4 years, our team has predominately played against boys as the opportunities for female rugby at this age group is relatively non-existent. But now we see the Black Ferns and women's rugby exploding. Let's help these kōtiro be what they can now see! This is an amazing opportunity for our girls to play in a female environment, in a tournament that matches our values of whanaungatanga, enjoyment, manaakitanga and empowerment.

Our team have set aside 4 months for various fundraising initiatives to raise $24,000 for this festival ($1300 per head). As you can appreciate this is a large sum to raise for a small group, especially given the current economic climate that is placing extra pressure on many of our whānau.

Our fundraising success depends on contributions/koha from our friends and whānau and we humbly ask for your support. Every bit helps with costs such as fees, accommodation, travel, and food. The majority of our girls have never been to the South Island either!

Thank you on our quest to get our girls to the 2023 NZ Junior Girls Rugby Festival and have the time of their life!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
